Azerbaijani Troops Gathered at the Border with Syunik: Grant Mikayelyan

According to my information, Azerbaijani troops have amassed at the border with Syunik, and Azerbaijan has not resolved its issues. This was stated by political scientist and economist Grant Mikayelyan during a broadcast on "Factinfo."

He noted that first, Azerbaijan wants to divert attention entirely from Artsakh to Syunik, which, as we can see, is being achieved very effectively. The second goal is the opening of a corridor through Syunik, which Azerbaijan seeks to impose on Armenia by force. The third objective is to detach as many strategically important positions as possible from the Republic of Armenia, creating several platforms to facilitate easy attacks on Armenia in the future, and to potentially divide Armenia with a single strike, for example, in Vayots Dzor from Syunik. Moreover, a platform has essentially already been established in the Gegharkunik region.

The speaker also addressed Armenian-Russian relations, the regional developments in this context, including the role of Turkey, the issue of Artsakh, internal political developments, and societal attitudes.
