Bachkov's Victory Awarded: Justice Restored
The Armenian Boxing Federation reports that in the World Boxing Championship, the judges unjustly awarded the victory to Thailand's Somchai Wongusawadi during the match, despite the fact that our athlete displayed a commendable performance and had a noticeable advantage over his opponent. In reality, Bachkov's hand should have been raised in victory.
Immediately after the match, the Armenian Boxing Federation, led by Hovhannes Hovsepyan, lodged a complaint against the unfair decision of the referees and pursued the restoration of justice.
Ultimately, after discussions by the refereeing committee, justice has been restored and the victory in the quarter-final bout between Bachkov and Wongusawadi has been awarded to the Armenian athlete. This marks the first time in history that an unjust decision against an Armenian athlete in a world championship has been overturned, returning the victory to us.
In the semi-finals of the World Championship, Armenia will have two representatives. This guarantees two bronze medals, marking another exceptional event in the history of Armenian boxing.
