If Vazgen Were Here, This Would Not Happen: Sasun Mikayelyan
If Vazgen Sargsyan and Karen Demirchyan were alive, we would have a different state today, said Sasun Mikayelyan, the president of the Union of Volunteers, during a conversation with journalists in Yerablur today.
"If Vazgen were here, this wouldn’t happen. The crime that occurred 22 years ago... it was about the issue of Artsakh... the entire executive body was decapitated during our state’s period of ascendance," said Mikayelyan in response to a question about what Vazgen Sargsyan would have said following the recent events surrounding Artsakh.
He noted that had Sargsyan and Demirchyan been alive, Armenia would be a completely different country today. "We would have a stronger army, and such a situation would not exist. With the assassination of Vazgen Sargsyan, our state was dismantled from its foundations," he remarked.
Mikayelyan emphasized the necessity of revealing the truth behind the crime that occurred on October 27. "Sooner or later, it will be revealed; all governments should think in this direction. If it is not revealed, ongoing issues will arise in the future," said the president of the Union of Volunteers.
