Guterres and Mirzoyan Discuss the Situation at the Border with Azerbaijan
The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border on Saturday. This was mentioned in a statement issued by Guterres' office.
“The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister discussed cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan. They also addressed the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and efforts to promote regional cooperation and sustainable peace,” the statement said.
The UN Secretary-General emphasized the UN's support for ongoing dialogue and peacekeeping efforts, as well as the work of UN organizations in the region.
“Guterres also highlighted the importance of protecting cultural heritage sites,” it was added in the office of the Secretary-General.
