France to Assist Azerbaijan in Mine Clearance Efforts
The president of the Agency for Mine Action of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), Vugar Suleymanov, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan, Zacharie Gross. This was reported by Azerbaijani news outlets.
During the meeting, views were exchanged regarding the humanitarian mine clearance operations being carried out by ANAMA in the territories liberated from occupation. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss financial support from the French Republic for mine clearance efforts and to explore avenues for assistance in this area.
In the near future, the parties are expected to sign a document on support for mine clearance activities, as well as the implementation of awareness-raising projects related to assistance for individuals affected by mines and the threat of explosive ordnance.
