Unvaccinated Individuals or Those Not Undergoing PCR Tests May Be Dismissed from Work
Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan addressed journalists after a government meeting, discussing the decision effective October 1, which mandates employers to require employees to provide proof of vaccination against coronavirus or submit results of two monthly PCR tests.
“The consequence of not attending work will be significant, and the respective organization will also face certain fines. If an employee fails to report to work for a specified period, the employer has the right to terminate the employment contract,” she stated.
According to Avanesyan, all actions are being conducted within the framework of the constitution and laws. “There is a law on ‘Sanitary and Epidemiological Protection of the Population’ in Armenia, which contains specific provisions and based on that, legislative acts have also been adopted. The norm set forth fully complies with all requirements,” she added.
