38 Prisoners Killed, Doubts Persist About Another 30 Murders: Siranush Sahakyan
Human rights defender Siranush Sahakyan stated in a conversation with journalists that aside from issues pertaining to prisoners, they have currently filed 38 complaints regarding the protection of the right to life. She mentioned that they are investigating several dozen cases where they have preliminary evidence that captives have been killed, but they are currently awaiting the results of forensic examinations.
“We anticipate raising issues concerning human rights violations in about 30 cases. This number does not include cases of enforced disappearances. In the case of murder, we have bodies, DNA matches, and evidence that these individuals were alive under Azerbaijan's control, were not participants in hostilities, yet were arbitrarily deprived of their lives and subjected to extrajudicial executions,” the human rights defender said.
