Tokyo 2020: Armenian Shooter Elmira Karapetyan First to Compete
On the second medal day of the 32nd Summer Olympic Games taking place in Tokyo, Japan, the first to compete from the Armenian team was shooter Elmira Karapetyan.
The only representative of Armenia in the shooting competition participated in the women's 10 meter air pistol event and secured 18th place with a score of 573 points, failing to advance past the qualification round.
The championship title was won by Russian Vitalina Batsarashkina, who scored 240.3, setting an Olympic record. Bulgarian Antoaneta Kostadinova became the silver medalist with a score of 239.4, while the bronze medal went to Chinese Zhang Qiansin with a score of 218.0.
