VIDEO. Azerbaijan Continues Aggression Against Artsakh People Through Information Terrorism, Ombudsman Says to International Organizations
Azerbaijan continues its aggression against the people of Artsakh by exerting psychological pressure on those living there through information terrorism. The goal is clear: to ethnically cleanse Artsakh by instilling fear, despair, and psychological distress among its inhabitants, stated Gegham Stepanyan, the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh.
"Previously, they would call our residents offering to buy stores and apartments, but now the 'Khankendi/Stepanakert' page on Facebook has become active, which clearly implements the orders of the Azerbaijani propaganda machine. In its latest post, a self-proclaimed deputy from Stepanakert lists supposed contact details of their nonexistent office, presumably expecting residents of Artsakh to reach out to him. This is yet another manipulation and double game by the Azerbaijani authorities, presenting themselves to the international community as peacemakers while feeding hatred towards Armenians within their own society.
An in-depth study of the page's content clearly shows that it is coordinated by Azerbaijani state bodies and aims to exert psychological pressure on the residents of Artsakh through informational terror. Furthermore, the comments beneath its posts are filled with high volumes of hatred rhetoric against Armenians.
The national security bodies must implement necessary technical measures to suppress the spread of this page among our population and ensure the psychological inviolability of our citizens.
I call on international organizations to pay attention to this issue: this is psychological terrorism carried out by Azerbaijan, a component of its systematic policy of ethnic cleansing against the Armenians of Artsakh. Dear compatriots, do not give in to Azerbaijani manipulations; do not like the page in any case, as this will lead to constant receipt of misleading information propagated through this page.
It is necessary to report the page as much as possible, so that its spread among our users is halted. The steps for reporting are attached in the video," noted the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh.
