The Only 'Merit' in Recent Years Was Testifying Against His Comrades in the March 1 Case: Abrahamyan on Karapetyan's Appointment
Another appointment 'by the force of law'—Arshak Karapetyan, who was the head of the intelligence directorate during the April military operations and was removed for its failure, has been 'installed' as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the 'Henaket' analytical center, on his Facebook page.
'A man whose only notable achievement in recent years was to testify against his comrades in the already failed case of March 1, and to provide services of an internal political nature to these authorities, is appointed to a position. And individuals of this kind and quality are being assigned within the military command. These appointments in the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff in the post-war phase resemble a 'control shot' directed at the army. They not only devastate the army but also attempt to eliminate the last opportunities for its restoration,' he wrote.
It is noteworthy that the Government had previously issued a statement announcing that Arshak Karapetyan is considered appointed as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff by the force of law. Earlier, the Government had released another statement indicating that Artak Davtyan was appointed as the Chief of the General Staff by the force of law.
