2 Million Dram Fee for Taxi Services: What is the Justification?
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports that the government intends to license taxi services at the airport by imposing a state fee of 2 million drams. The interesting aspect is the justification provided by the government for this fee.
According to the government, “Unacceptable behavior has been demonstrated by taxi service providers at the airport, causing discomfort to passengers by verbally soliciting them within the airport grounds. Foreign citizens and tourists entering the Republic of Armenia find themselves in an awkward situation, which is unacceptable from a tourism perspective.”
However, it remains unclear how this fee will help resolve the issue.
