Caparros Praises Mkhitaryan in Interview with La Repubblica

The head coach of the Armenian national team, Joaquin Caparros, has given an interview to La Repubblica and praised the national team and Italian club Roma's star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

When asked how important Mkhitaryan is for the team, Caparros noted that Henrikh is a great player and truly cares about our national team, just like all his teammates.

“Great players are always important, not least because we have very few talents like him. Moreover, he genuinely cares about our national team, just like all of his teammates. The love for the national jersey is one of the advantages we have compared to other teams,” Caparros stated.

Touching upon Mkhitaryan’s open letter during the war addressed to Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Emmanuel Macron, requesting an end to the ongoing war in Artsakh, Caparros mentioned that he personally congratulated Mkhitaryan for this move.

“I personally congratulated him for such a step; he was part of the national team at that time. Undoubtedly, he is an example for us because everything he says and does carries enormous significance,” Caparros emphasized.
