The US Has Permanently Refused to Recognize Crimea as Russian and Lift Sanctions
The new US administration has permanently refused to lift sanctions against Russia imposed due to events in Ukraine and recognize Crimea as Russian territory. This was announced by Rodney Hunter, a representative of the US mission to the UN, as reported by TASS.
“We will never recognize Russia's attempt to annex Crimea. As a result, US sanctions against Russia will remain in place as long as Moscow does not change its course,” he emphasized.
He also accused Moscow of allegedly having its armed forces present in Ukraine and promised continued support for Kyiv. “The US intends to continue supporting Ukrainian partners in their efforts to restore the country's territorial integrity,” Hunter added.
