First Export from Turkey to Russia via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railroad
The first export train using the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway departed from Ankara, Turkey, on January 29, 2021, heading to Russia, reports Ermenihaber.
The freight train has already arrived in the Kaluga region, near Moscow. A ceremony to welcome the train was held in Kaluga, attended by Mehmet Samsar, the Turkish ambassador to Russia.
The freight train transported 4,000 units of household appliances from the renowned Turkish brand 'BEKO' to Russia. During the ceremonial event, the Turkish ambassador emphasized that the economic relations are a vital component of Turkey-Russia relations. He added that this train represents not just a means of export but a unique bridge of friendship between the two countries and peoples.
