New Procedure for Foreign Citizens to Enter the Territory of Artsakh
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh has commented on the updated procedure for foreign citizens entering the territory of the Republic of Artsakh.
Due to security considerations in the post-war conditions, there is an updated procedure for foreign citizens to enter the Republic of Artsakh. Foreign nationals wishing to visit Artsakh must apply in advance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh for permission to enter.
This procedure applies to both foreign citizens who require a visa to enter and those from countries where a visa-free regime is in effect. Information regarding the applications is also communicated to the Russian peacekeeping forces, given the security considerations.
After the applications are processed, the foreign citizens who applied will be informed, and the corresponding entry permits will be issued in Yerevan at the permanent representation of the Republic of Artsakh, after which they may travel to Artsakh.
Regarding the timelines, relevant work is being conducted to improve the mechanism. Entry permits will be granted within 3-4 working days; however, sometimes the process may take longer, and the applicant will be informed in such cases.
The mechanism is currently being implemented. In recent days, several representatives of foreign media and international organizations have entered the Republic of Artsakh following this procedure.
