Iran Reveals Conditions Under Which It Would Acquire Nuclear Weapons
The head of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence, Mahmoud Alavi, did not rule out the possibility that Tehran could acquire nuclear weapons if the country is "pushed to the edge." This was reported by РИА Новости.
He emphasized that the country's atomic program is exclusively peaceful in nature, and using it for the creation of weapons contradicts Islamic norms.
“However, I will tell you this: if a cat is pushed to the edge, it may behave differently than it would in freedom. If Iran is forced in that direction, it will not be Iran's fault. Under normal circumstances, Iran has no such plans,” said the minister during an interview on IRIB TV2.
Washington has repeatedly expressed concern over Iran's potential acquisition of nuclear weapons, but Tehran has denied these claims.
