The Chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharian, noted during parliamentary hearings related to the field of science that in Soviet times, we had great scientific thought and excellent scientists in the field of exact sciences.

“During the war, our nation focused on the ‘Bayraktar’; everyone at home talked about the air being open. But this should have been thought about for years—prioritizing bringing science to the army. Today, the war has forced us to understand that modern wars cannot happen without the involvement of science in the security system.

Today, we discuss air defense and long-range artillery, and criminal cases have also been initiated against those whose indifference and high level of corruption have weakened our security capabilities. These issues must be urgently brought to the army,” said Kocharian.
