Court Examines Arrest Request for Arush Arushanyan
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction is currently reviewing the arrest request for the Mayor of Goris, Arush Arushanyan. This was reported by Irina Yiolyan, the Deputy Mayor of Goris, in a conversation with ArmDaily.am.
Simultaneously, the legal team has appealed against the decision of Arushanyan's arrest. Arush Arushanyan was detained under Articles 34 and 225.1 of the RA Criminal Code for attempting to organize an illegal gathering. According to the legal team, his arrest is unlawful and illegal, as there can be no discussion of an illegal gathering.
Arushanyan was arrested early yesterday morning for calling on the residents of Goris to block the entrances to Syunik with their vehicles at 6:00 AM and to prevent Prime Minister Pashinyan from entering Syunik.
