Kocharian's Office Responds to NSS

In response to the statement made today by the National Security Service (NSS), the office of Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharian, asserts that Kocharian has thousands of supporters who are patriotic, politically active individuals and consistently participate in various protests, rallies, and similar activities. There is no need to be part of the NSS to acknowledge this fact.

Today, the NSS announced that criminal proceedings have been initiated against dozens of participants or organizers of the mass unrest that occurred on November 10. The NSS also noted that a significant number of those involved in the unrest were supporters of former president Robert Kocharian.

“As is well known, today the NSS issued a statement that literally echoed one of the old texts from Prime Minister Pashinyan's spokesperson, declaring the heroic discovery of Kocharian's supporters among the participants of the protests in front of the Government building. We find it necessary to emphasize that such a discovery does not require the NSS. It is a well-known fact that President Kocharian has thousands of supporters who are patriotic, politically active people and consistently engage in various protests and rallies. The functions and capabilities of the NSS are needed to clarify the motives of another group—the traitorous capitulators. Do not hesitate,” reads the statement from Kocharian's office.
