Ara Aivazyan Discusses Current Situation in Artsakh with UK Secretary
On November 30, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan had a phone conversation with Wendy Morton, the UK Secretary for European Neighbourhood and the Americas. During the discussion, they addressed the current situation in Artsakh and regional developments.
Minister Aivazyan informed his counterpart about the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh resulting from the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression involving foreign militant terrorists, and the steps being taken to overcome this crisis.
In this context, the Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of involving international relevant organizations in creating and ensuring conditions for the return of displaced Artsakh Armenians to their homeland.
Aivazyan highlighted the priority of restoring and addressing the rights of the Artsakh population, including through the recognition of the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh.
The parties also discussed the restoration and maintenance of stability in the South Caucasus after the war. On this occasion, the Armenian Foreign Minister noted that Turkey's expansionist ambitions could have severely destructive consequences for the entire region.
