1,700 Residents Returned to Artsakh Under Russian Peacekeepers' Protection
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that approximately 1,700 displaced residents returned to Artsakh from Armenia, escorted by Russian peacekeepers over the past day.
On November 29, 2020, Russian peacekeepers accompanied a convoy of buses carrying displaced Armenians from the territory of Armenia to Artsakh. A total of 1,699 people were transported from Yerevan to Stepanakert, according to the statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The release also noted that on Saturday, with the support of Russian peacekeepers, 2,431 individuals returned to Artsakh from Armenia. In total, since November 14, more than 23,000 residents have returned to their previous places of residence.
The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that "the ceasefire is being maintained along the entire contact line." The search and exchange of victims' bodies continues in coordination with the Russian peacekeeping forces and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
