I have appealed to the Russian Ambassador to remove exhibits from the 5 museums in Shushi: MP
Yesterday, I also officially appealed in writing to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin. As a representative of the Russian Federation, I requested him to mediate with the Azerbaijani side to facilitate the transfer of the monument to the national hero of Artsakh, Vazgen Sargsyan, to Armenia.
This was noted by LHK MP Anna Kostanyan. She specifically wrote: “In the letter, I also mentioned that the Russian Foreign Minister S. Lavrov and Russian President V. Putin have particularly emphasized the preliminary agreements regarding the organization of the visit of the group conducting the official UNESCO mission to Artsakh. I asked the Ambassador to mediate in establishing contact with the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, with whose assistance it may be possible to form an operational group on the Armenian side that will enter the historical and cultural sites, shrines, and museums in the areas of Artsakh that remain under Azerbaijani control in collaboration with the UNESCO group for research, on-site documentation, and to film in order to, if possible, remove exhibits from the 5 museums in Shushi.”
I am hopeful that my letter will receive a positive response.
