Russian Embassy Promises to Relay Requests of Missing Persons' Relatives to Moscow Today
Andrey Shanin, an advisor to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Armenia, has promised to convey the requests of parents and relatives of missing servicemen during military operations in Artsakh to the government of the Russian Federation. As reported by Armenpress, this was stated by Yegishe Zakunts, a relative of one of the missing servicemen, during a conversation with journalists.
“We met with Andrey Shanin, the advisor to the Russian ambassador in Armenia. We conveyed everyone’s request regarding the fallen soldiers, and the primary request is for the Russian Federation to address this issue. He read the letter and said that action would be taken on it right now; it will be forwarded to the ambassador and will be in Moscow within a few hours. They said they would do everything to support and assist us,” Zakunts said.
Relatives of missing servicemen in Artsakh had previously held a rally near the Russian embassy in Armenia. The participants of the rally prepared a list consisting of the names of the missing servicemen to convey to the Russian embassy. They requested in a letter to support the immediate initiation of search operations for the servicemen in the areas under Azerbaijani control. Earlier, the relatives of the missing soldiers had gathered near the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, and after some time they decided to continue their action near the Russian embassy.
