Germany Considers Turkey's Complaint Regarding Ship Search Unjustified
The German Minister of Defense considers Turkey's complaint against German soldiers boarding a Turkish ship under the EU military mission in the Mediterranean Sea to be unjustified. "The soldiers behaved correctly and acted in full compliance with the mandate of the European 'Irini' mission," stated Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer. "The accusations against the soldiers are unfounded." Turkey expressed its complaint after EU mission's German forces boarded a vessel and attempted to search a Turkish cargo ship suspected of illegal arms supply to Libya.
