Turkey Loses Over 70% of Tourists in 10 Months
The number of foreign tourists in Turkey declined by 72.5% during the first ten months of 2020. According to Armenpress, this information was reported by RIA Novosti.
It is noted that from January to October of this year, Turkey hosted 11.2 million foreign tourists, which is 41 million fewer than the same period in 2019.
37% of the total number of foreign visitors went to Istanbul, followed by Antalya in terms of tourist numbers.
Last week, restrictions were imposed in the country for the weekends, restaurants and cafes were closed, and new working hours were set for businesses to curb the sharp rise in coronavirus cases.
