Only Police Officers Participated in All Actions in Yerevan
The Armenian Police has issued a statement clarifying the involvement of police officers dressed in black during public order maintenance operations in various parts of the capital today. The explanation is as follows:
“Today, police conducted operations aimed at maintaining public order in various parts of the capital. Photographs and videos of police officers have circulated in media and social networks, showing service members in black uniforms with inscriptions in foreign languages. This has led some to conclude that individuals other than police officers and bodyguards participated in the actions.
The police officially declare that only police officers participated in all operations. The police once again call on everyone to adhere to the legal regime imposed by the state of emergency. All those who resort to illegal actions, violence, or provocations, who place themselves above the law and society, will be subjected to the strictest accountability.”
