Russian State Duma Calls on Azerbaijan to Preserve Religious Sites in Artsakh
The Russian State Duma has called on Azerbaijan to preserve the religious sites located in the territory of Artsakh and to ensure their accessibility. This statement was made by Sergey Gavrilov, the chairman of the State Duma's Committee on Development of Civil Society, Issues of Public and Religious Associations, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the press service, Gavrilov emphasized the importance of ensuring access to religious sites, including both mosques and Christian churches. He stated, “We hope that in accordance with the principles of international law and the protection of believers' rights, the religious sites and monasteries in Artsakh will be preserved. By ensuring security and free access to religious sites, Azerbaijan will demonstrate its civilized nature.”
