Defense Ministry Will Accompany Kocharyan to Units If He Apologizes to Soldiers
On November 17, the Chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharyan, presented his opinions from the parliamentary podium once again regarding the actions of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia during the war unleashed against Artsakh. These remarks, like all previous observations and statements, were not only detached from reality but also clearly aimed at distorting that reality and seeking scapegoats for the situation that has arisen. This has been reported by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
The reason why Andranik Kocharyan has been so diligently attempting to belittle the army's role during the war is left to the honorable man's conscience. Nevertheless, fully aware of the obvious and hidden dangers present in his public statements, we feel compelled to address his thoughts once again, which serve as yet another testament to his ignorance regarding knowledge of the defense system.
Specifically, the parliamentary official responsible for coordinating issues in the defense sector declares that "the army, almost as it is, does not exist, but they are armed people." This is a profound manifestation of disrespect towards the several tens of thousands of soldiers of the Armenian army, who, contrary to Mr. Kocharyan's claims, are indeed fulfilling combat duty as a regular and combat-ready army at this very moment along the borders of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh.
If Mr. Kocharyan genuinely believes that "the army, almost as it is, does not exist, but they are armed people," then the Ministry of Defense would gladly accompany him to numerous units of the Armenian army, on the condition that he apologizes to the soldiers of those units—from the private to the officer and commander. To all of them.
