Commotion in the National Assembly Following Lena Nazaryan's Statement
Today in the National Assembly, Deputy Speaker Lena Nazaryan announced that on the day of the well-known statement's signing, according to security personnel, David Manukyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, was among those entering the government.
Following these words, the members of the Prosperous Armenia Party began to respond from their seats, denying the claim and stating that their offices had been seriously affected, and that they had repeatedly called for such actions to be avoided.
The tensions in the National Assembly escalated significantly, prompting Lilit Makunts to request a 20-minute break to cool down the situation.
Iveta Tonoyan, for her part, stated that Makunts was requesting the break in order to facilitate the detention of their MPs and to ensure quorum, which is clearly evident: "It is unnecessary to talk about the issue of nerves here."
Tonoyan claimed that Nazaryan was spreading false information: "On the day of those clashes, none of your faction was present or attempted to calm people down." Ultimately, the break was announced, and Nazaryan asked the MPs to leave the session hall.
