Aliyev Announces Construction of Road from Fuzuli to Shushi
“Today the foundation is being laid for the Fuzuli-Shushi highway. This road is very important as it leads to Shushi, the pearl of Nagorno-Karabakh,” he stated, according to RIA Novosti.
He added that this will be the first project in the territory occupied by Azerbaijan.
Ilham Aliyev also declared that it is unacceptable for the republic to grant any special status to Nagorno-Karabakh.
“There can be no talk of any special status. All citizens of Azerbaijan, representing different peoples and religions, live in peace and friendship. The Armenian people will also live under those conditions,” Aliyev remarked.
It should be noted that Aliyev visited the Fuzuli region with his wife.
