PM's Statement Essentially Calls for Exit from Civil Clashes: Human Rights Defender
The Prime Minister's statement regarding the call directed at the soldiers on the front line is extremely dangerous, especially during these responsible and highly sensitive days, wrote the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page.
"This essentially calls for an exit from civil clashes. That statement is especially condemnable against the backdrop of the videos that have been periodically published in recent days by individuals in military uniforms and armed individuals, containing hate speech, calls for violence, and threats of murder. It is evident that the soldiers on the front line are armed, and this statement suggests the execution of those calls and threats, and seeking vengeance. I urge everyone to show restraint, while law enforcement agencies must act strictly in accordance with the law, exclusively within the framework of the rule of law. It is necessary to prevent any form of clashes or attempts at vigilantism," Tatoyan wrote.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had written on his Facebook page, "I watched dozens of videos of the soldiers on the front line today. I am astonished by the depth of understanding of the boys. Guys, you are right. I am waiting for you in Yerevan. We will finally resolve the issues of those whining under the walls. I am proud of you."
