System of a Down Raises $600,000 for Artsakh
The internationally renowned rock band System of a Down has raised $600,000 for Artsakh. According to a report by Armenpress, lead singer Serj Tankian announced this via his Twitter page, sharing a publication from Rolling Stone on the matter.
After a 15-year hiatus, the band recently released two new songs titled 'Protect The Land' and 'Genocidal Humanoidz' aimed at raising awareness about the humanitarian crisis and atrocities occurring in Artsakh due to Azerbaijan. Thus, the band has directed the proceeds to support Artsakh.
'We are grateful to the people of Artsakh for your incredible support of our campaign, enabling us to donate $600,000 to the Armenia Fund. Because of you, we will be able to assist displaced young and elderly civilians affected by the horrific war crimes of Azerbaijan and Turkey,' the band stated in their message.
