Georgia Opens Airspace for Russian Peacekeepers
Georgia's Prime Minister's special representative Zurab Abashidze has informed RIA Novosti that the Georgian side has allowed the use of its airspace for a limited time, at the request of Baku and Yerevan, for Russian aircraft transporting parts of their military contingent to Nagorno-Karabakh as part of a peacekeeping mission.
“Based on the request of both the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides, as an exception, part of the Russian peacekeepers' contingent will be transferred to the confrontation zone through Georgia's airspace for a previously agreed, specified, and limited period,” Abashidze stated.
