Ramilia Saitova Arrested for Calls to Extremism After Insulting Armenians
Ramilia Saitova, a Bashkir public figure who insulted Armenians, has been arrested for calls to extremism, as reported by news.am and confirmed by Echo of Moscow in Ufa.
Earlier, she published a video message on social media urging her followers to "eliminate all crosses in the Urals." She specifically mentioned one such object located in the village of Uzyan in the Beloretsk district of Bashkortostan. Unknown individuals burned the cross this morning, prompting the local Ministry of Internal Affairs to launch a criminal case under the vandalism article.
News of Ramilia Saitova's arrest emerged in the evening, as reported by Bashinform, citing a source within the law enforcement agencies. The article indicates that the charges may relate to public calls for extremism with nationalist motives and incitement of hatred or enmity. These criminal charges can lead to imprisonment.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, Ramilia Saitova had already been found guilty of inciting hatred under an administrative article by a court. At that time, she was detained for 10 days for a video in which she addressed a group of young Armenians regarding the presence of a large number of Armenians in Bashkortostan. The public figure appealed the court's decision to the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan, which upheld the lower court's ruling.
