After Failing to Extend Arms Embargo on Iran, US Aims to Reinstate Sanctions
The United States is set to initiate a process at the United Nations to impose sanctions on Iran in the coming days, according to the US permanent representative to the UN, Kelly Craft, as reported by TASS.
“Under UN Security Council Resolution 2231, the US has the right to initiate the process of reinstating previously established sanctions. The Trump administration's policy aimed at establishing peace in the Middle East will address the apparent failures of the UN Security Council,” Craft stated, referring to the rejection of the US proposal to extend the arms embargo on Iran.
