VIDEO: Badasyan Presents New Conditions for State of Emergency
During a government emergency session today, August 12, Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan presented a draft to extend the state of emergency. It is proposed to extend the state of emergency from August 12 at 17:00 for an additional 30 days, until September 11 at 17:00.
The state of emergency in Armenia is being extended for the fifth time, but this time the restrictions are softened.
“The ban on the entry of individuals without Armenian citizenship into the Republic of Armenia is lifted. At the same time, it is stipulated that upon entering Armenia, if a person is not subject to hospitalization, they will self-isolate for 14 days. However, there is a new innovation that within those 14 days, appropriate testing can be conducted, and if the result is negative, the self-isolation can be lifted,” said Rustam Badasyan.
The ban on gatherings and strikes throughout the Republic of Armenia is also lifted, although certain rules must still be followed. “It is necessary to wear masks as prescribed by the health authorities and to maintain social distancing between individuals—keeping a distance of up to one and a half meters,” emphasized Rustam Badasyan.
