Gas Pump Installed at the Crater Lake of Mount Azhdahak Removed
On August 12, 2020, employees of the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body's Kotayk regional division, together with the head of the Geghard community and police officers, conducted a tour of the crater lake area of Mount Azhdahak and removed the gas pump installed in the lake.
This information was reported by the inspection body. A few days prior, the Inspection Body's hotline received a report regarding illegal water extraction from the crater lake of Mount Azhdahak.
On August 7 of this year, employees of the Kotayk regional division discovered a resident of the Artashat community in the Armavir region, identified as T.K., conducting illegal water extraction. An administrative violation report was filed against him.
It is noteworthy that back in 2019, the same individual faced administrative sanctions from the Kotayk regional division of the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body for the same offense.
