Significant Personnel Changes in the Investigative Committee
According to the «Hraparak» newspaper, significant personnel changes have begun in the Investigative Committee. In particular, according to our sources, Samson Mathevosyan, the head of the Department of Oversight over the Activities of Territorial Investigative Departments, has recently been dismissed. He has been appointed as the deputy head of the Main Department of Criminal Investigation, which is seen as a demotion within the committee.
The issue is that, according to rumors circulating in the committee, Samson Mathevosyan had maintained quite close ties with the former head of the State Revenue Committee, Hovhannes Hovhsepian. Allegations suggest that officials connected to the previous regime have had their positions downgraded and were effectively wished ‘good luck’ afterward.
Interestingly, Samson Mathevosyan is the uncle of the governor of Armavir, Hambardzum Mathevosyan. This familial connection has not prevented his demotion, which indicates that ties to the former government played a more significant role in this decision.
