1 Soldier Killed and 6 Hospitalized in Accident; Criminal Case Initiated

On June 3, 2020, at approximately 1:50 PM, an "Ural" military vehicle belonging to military unit N was involved in an accident on the 17 km section of the Mataghis-Martakert highway. The vehicle overturned after leaving the roadway while returning from drills. As a result, conscript soldier, Private Sargis Masisi Ghulyan, succumbed to his injuries. Lieutenant Abraham Tigran Marukhyan and conscripts, Corporal Davit Armeni Sargsyan, and Privates Mikayel Samveli Vahanyan, Zhiyr Viktor Manukyan, Arman Vahrami Poghosyan, and Artak Vardani Shekoyan, were transported to the Martakert military hospital with various injuries.

A criminal case has been initiated by the third garrison investigative department under Article 377, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and an investigation is underway.
