On March 24, at 15:11, the National Crisis Management Center received information regarding a traffic accident on the Yeghegnadzor-Vayk highway. A firefighting and rescue team from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that a "GAZ-3110" vehicle (driver: Anatoli A., born in 1956) had veered off the roadway at the 128th km mark on the Yerevan-Meghri segment of the M-2 highway and fell into the river. Before rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver was hospitalized at the Yeghegnadzor Medical Center, where he succumbed without regaining consciousness.
The rescuers de-energized the vehicle, lifted it out of the river with the help of a crane, and performed road washing works.
