Murder in Ejmiadzin: Suspect Arrested in Connection with Crime
On March 22, 2020, around 10:45 AM, the police in Vagharshapat received a report from a citizen who had discovered the body of his uncle in an apartment in the Charenz neighborhood of Ejmiadzin, with blood traces on the head.
During the examination of the crime scene, a metal chair was found bearing blood-like stains and hair. On the same day, a criminal case was initiated by the Vagharshapat investigative division of the Armenian Investigative Committee under Article 104 (murder) of the Armenian Criminal Code.
As a result of the undertaken measures, it was determined that the person suspected of committing the alleged crime is a friend of the victim, who, with the intent of unlawfully taking the victim’s life, struck the victim's head multiple times with a blunt object, resulting in the victim’s death.
The suspect has been arrested. Necessary investigative and procedural actions are being undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the case. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
