Inmate Attempts Escape and Breaks Mobile Phone
On March 22, at approximately 10:00 PM, a staff member of the 'Sevan' penitentiary institution received an alert regarding an incident in the middle of the detention area. According to the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice, after immediate relevant actions were taken, inmate D. P. was spotted in the residential zone attempting to escape and broke the mobile phone he had on him, which was subsequently confiscated by the staff.
Following this, a search was conducted in the mentioned residential area, resulting in the discovery of a package wrapped in polyethylene adhesive tape. Later, at around 11:10 PM, during another round of patrol, the staff observed another package thrown into the detention area.
The packages contained a greenish substance weighing 209.3 grams, resembling marijuana, divided into eight parts, as well as three whole tablets and four fragments of methadone—a narcotic substance—a type of Subutex marked 'B8', with two tablets weighing 0.8 grams, possibly methamphetamine, and a crystalline white substance weighing 0.6 grams, along with the mobile phone.
Materials are being prepared on the matter, and a forensic chemical examination has been assigned.
