BMW Crashes into Gas Pipeline and Electric Pole in Silikian District
On March 23, at 02:50 AM, the National Crisis Management Center received an alert regarding an explosion heard on 17th Street in the Silikian district of Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Two fire and rescue teams from the fire and rescue unit of the Yerevan emergency service were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that at the intersection of 4th and 10th Streets in the Silikian district, a BMW vehicle (the driver’s identity has not been clarified) crashed into a gas pipeline and an electric pole, resulting in a gas leak from the pipeline and damage to the pole. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
The rescuers disconnected the power to the vehicle and maintained a watch until the emergency gas service and electric network workers arrived.
