VIDEO: Gunshots in an Apartment Building in Yerevan; Citizen Kills Father-in-Law
In the early hours of March 19, at around 5:20 AM, the Yerevan city police received a report about gunshots in an apartment building at Yekmalyan 1/1. The responding operational-investigative teams, forensic experts, and patrol officers serving the Central district found that a resident of the building had fired irregular shots first at the entrance and then near the door of an apartment, targeting his father-in-law, as reported by the police.
A 47-year-old man was found dead at the scene. Authorities discovered a factory-numbered Kalashnikov assault rifle, a handgun, a hunting rifle, and more than ten fired cartridges from the assault rifle’s magazine at the site of the incident.
The police apprehended the 35-year-old suspect, neutralized him, and brought him to the Central police station. He has been submitted to the territorial investigative division, where he provided a confession and has since been arrested. Expert examinations have been scheduled.
Within the framework of the criminal case initiated, operational-investigative measures and investigative actions are being undertaken to clarify the circumstances of this particularly serious crime.
