Attempt to Smuggle Drugs Thwarted at Hrazdan Penitentiary

On March 6, around 21:30, a staff member of the Hrazdan penitentiary of the Republic of Armenia noticed suspicious individuals attempting to lower a package into the facility from outside the perimeter fence during a routine patrol.

The prison officer acted promptly to prevent the transfer. An inspection of the package revealed substances resembling marijuana, weighing approximately 54 grams, and 1 gram of a crystalline white substance, separated into 16 different packages.

Materials are being prepared on the incident, and the substances found have been sent for forensic chemical examination.
