Members of ‘Adekvad’ Conduct Protest in Front of Baghramyan 26
Members of the ‘Adekvad’ movement held another protest today in front of Baghramyan 26. They brought barrels filled with water to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.
“As active processes are underway regarding the resolution of the Artsakh issue, we, fully aware that these developments lead to no good, are attempting to at least neutralize the negative impact on the positions of Armenian states,” said founder of ‘Adekvad’ Arthur Danielyan.
“One of those factors is the de facto President of Armenia and British citizen Armen Sarkissian, who, as has been revealed from open sources, has a stake in Azerbaijani gas and oil infrastructure. His personal financial interests clash with the national security interests of Armenian states. We theoretically question whether it is possible to compensate him so that he does not influence the negotiation process,” Danielyan stated, emphasizing that ‘Adekvad’ wishes for the president to respond on whether it is possible to negotiate with him to set aside his personal interests.
Unable to deliver the barrels to the president, representatives of ‘Adekvad’ wrote him a letter: “In the letter, we once again urged and asked him to consider our proposal for dialogue. Our main goal is not to provoke clashes in any case, but to promote the negotiation process peacefully,” Danielyan mentioned, noting that they will take all measures and persistently attempt to ask Sarkissian to start negotiations.
“We again reaffirm our readiness to provide clear financial compensation to Armen Sarkissian if he starts a dialogue,” Arthur Danielyan said.
It is noteworthy that earlier, the ‘Adekvad’ movement issued a statement announcing that henceforth, on the first day of each month, the movement would supply the Armenian President Armen Sarkissian with a portion of oil products with the aim of at least partially unraveling the geopolitical knot created by the need to transit Central Asian energy resources to Europe.
