Charges Filed Against the Son of Arakel Movsisyan in Connection with the Death of Private Vahram Avagyan
The spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Naira Harutyunyan, announced on her Facebook page that in connection with the death of mandatory military serviceman, Private Vahram Mkrtich Avagyan, an initial charge has been filed against Private D. Movsisyan in the case currently under investigation by the garrison investigative department.
He has been charged under Article 359, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, for violating the regulatory rules regarding relationships among servicemen in the absence of a subordinate relationship, which resulted in serious consequences due to negligence.
The investigator has submitted a request to the court to select pre-trial detention as a measure against D. Movsisyan.
David Movsisyan is the son of former member of the National Assembly from the Republican faction, Arakel Movsisyan.
It is noteworthy that the Investigative Committee had previously issued a statement indicating that in connection with Avagyan's death, three of his comrades have been arrested: Khachik Gasparyan, Spartak Avetisyan, and David Movsisyan, on suspicion of violating the regulatory rules governing relationships among servicemen in the absence of a subordinate relationship.
