Tragic Accident Occurs in Syunik: One Dead and Several Injured

Today, on February 1, a major and tragic road accident occurred in the Syunik province. Around 5:00 PM, cars with license plates 36 DТ 524, a VAZ-2107, and 415 LT 53, a Ford Transit, collided on the 8th kilometer of the Meghri-Agarak highway.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver of the VAZ-2107 died at the scene. His body was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters from the emergency service unit of Syunik province who arrived from the Meghri firefighting squad. Meanwhile, three individuals who were in the Ford Transit, which is used as an ambulance and belongs to one of the medical centers in Syunik province, have been transported to the hospital.

According to G. Shamshyan's information, those hospitalized include the ambulance driver and nursing staff from the hospital. The police and investigative department are working to establish the identities of the ambulance driver, his injured passengers, and the deceased driver of the VAZ-2107.
