Ukraine Seeks Joint Aircraft Production with Turkey
In an interview with the Turkish newspaper "Milliyet," Ukraine's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Andriy Sybiga commented on the relations between Ukraine and Turkey, as reported by ermenihaber. Sybiga stated that they wish to initiate joint aircraft production with Turkey.
He noted that negotiations on the topic are ongoing and emphasized that Ukraine is ready to accept any collaboration with Turkey. The joint production aims to include the "AN-188" model aircraft. Additionally, the ambassador mentioned that the "Antonov" State Aircraft Manufacturing Company could surprise the Turkish audience with the world’s largest cargo aircraft, the "AN-224 Mriya," during Turkish air shows.
"Joint working groups have been formed," the ambassador reported. "We are waiting for a response from the Turkish side. This project holds strategic significance for both parties. We also have a strong interest in the aviation systems of Turkish company 'ASELSAN' (defense industry company)."
The ambassador also pointed to the recently established Turkish-Ukrainian company that produces unmanned aerial vehicles. According to him, the first flight of the "Akıncı" UAV will take place soon.
