FFA Has a New President
Armen Melikbekyan has been elected as the president of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) by delegates at an extraordinary meeting of FFA members. Out of the candidates for FFA president, 13 delegates voted in favor of Armen Melikbekyan, while 7 supported Tovmas Grigoryan. Three ballots were deemed invalid.
Out of 25 FFA delegates, 23 participated in the election. One delegate was absent from the meeting, and another did not have the appropriate identification documents.
The election of the FFA president will be followed by the election of 16 members of the FFA executive committee, from which the vice president of the federation will be elected upon the proposal of the FFA president.
It is noteworthy that on November 21, FFA president Arthur Vanetsyan and the members of the FFA executive committee resigned.
Three candidates, Tovmas Grigoryan, Armen Melikbekyan, and Khoren Hovhannisyan, were nominated for the post of FFA president. However, Hovhannisyan recently announced the withdrawal of his candidacy.
